Glass of Milk with wording around it

On January 14, 2026, The Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act of 2025, which amends the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act to revise milk requirements in the USDA's National School Lunch Program (NSLP) was passed.

This law allows schools to offer a wider variety of milk options, including whole, reduced-fat, low-fat, fat-free, and lactose-free milk, as well as fortified nondairy beverages that meet nutritional standards. Schools must offer at least two milk options daily, ensuring that flavored milk does not exceed specified sugar or saturdated fat limits that reflect the weekly dietary specifications.

Here at Bath Community Schools, we are looking forward to implementing some of these new changes once products are avaialble to us!
